POR-15 is a paint-like substance which acts as a total rust inhibitor and is also very effective as a metal filler.

POR15 chemically bonds to rusted steel to form a rock-hard, non-porous coating.  POR15 won't crack chip, or peel.  It  works by isolating metal from moisture. Without moisture present, steel can't rust.

 POR-15 products are designed to work as a complete system to repair rust and provide rust protection.  Here is how the system works:
 

  • Step 1:  Degrease & Clean Surface with Marine Clean
  • Step 2:  Neurtralize Rust; Etch Metal with Metal-Ready
  • Step 3:  Apply Rust Preventative Coating POR-15 to Surface
  • Step 4:  Topcoat the Surface with one of our POR-15 Topcoats or use your own!
                   POR-15 will accept all types of topcoats including laquer based paints.
